I have given birth to a new purpose of life....

Here's my baby Nik Emir Qalif, born on Friday 29th Oct 2010 at Liverpool Women's Hospital
He was born at exactly 1700 hours and weighed 3.4kg
My bundle of joy is now 1 month old yeay! and weighs 4.2kg yeay :)

I must say my delivery wasn't exactly smooth sailing since 11pm Wednesday (27/11/2010)
but everything went well, I have been given strong painkillers thrice plus the ephidural
for my 23hours++ of fighting in labour :p
But alhamdulillah I can't more thankful than a safe delivery and a perfect and healthy baby boy
Allah itu maha kaya...


This video was taken when Q was 3 weeks old, when I tried to put him to bed
Just to let to know, it didn't work though,,
he wanted a warm cuddle from mummy :)

so i am now very very close to my due date. yes, the 25th.. which means that i have about 6 more days to go. most ppl say that i'm lucky if i'm gonna have my baby on the due date, most cases are either earlier or later than the date.

well, whichever and whenever it is.. i am truly terrified.
yes, i am. but i'm trying not to think too much of the process.
all i pray for is a swift delivery, but i can't help but feeling very scared.

okay, i shall not elaborate on this. not helping, no no not helping.
on the other hand, i can't wait to see and hold Baby Q in my arms
and I can't wait to hug my parents next week, they'll be here for 2 months yeay!

as for now, I am still doing my usual chores and work
trying to complete things and well, just to keep on moving
and yes, a little bit of nesting :)

InsyaAllah pray for my safe and swift labour..

happy birthday to me and my 26 weeks old Baby Q :)

Among other things that I miss doing most is... crafting
It's a little embarassing to say this I know since I am not really artsy
but I just love doing crafts, I believe it's my true voice :)

Well I must say that my sewing skills is NOT good
hence, very very limited things that I can do
but I love seeing visions of things that I can make
and sometimes they involve needles
so it's kinda a bit frustrating that I cannot just do it

So most of the things that I sort of made, are just simple ones
those that makes me happy and most importantly
of my heart's contents
yeah so, I miss doing them..
I used to have events or things that made me do them
like engagement, wedding, birthday parties, raya hampers and such
so now I dont see myself in any of these occasions,
and I am sad that I can no longer make one of the things that I love most..

I always have new ideas these days..
but I am yet to discover the right place
to shop the materials and get started
sigh... i miss doing the door gifts for my engagement and wedding..
hmm.. I should get started soon.. wish me luck
and if I can get my heads and hands together, yes I will surely
show them to you..

so, what do you miss doing most?

I can't remember when was the last time I worked really hard?
was I too busy with the chores that I neglected my work?
ahh the apartment is not so big and there's just the two of us
so, there are no excuses of heavy chores to do especially when they're done daily
guess i've been a little laid back especially even now that I am entering 2nd trimester,
the fatigue comes back eventough thankfully not as bad as before


today im feeling good, i cooked nasi kerabu
i normally cooked once for both lunch and dinner
so i have plenty of time to do other things
and one thing that tops my priority list is writing papers

i should get started now before i get distracted with something else :p

Paris is so beautiful.... and a romantic place indeed
we went there for 4 days and I must say we enjoyed every second of it
went on the cruise, had ice creams twice at the park,
enjoying the view from the top floor of the eiffel tower
and oh just strolled in the city, had coffee and city + people watching :)

we also went twice to a magical place called Shakespeare & Company
yes i am a secret admirer of this bookshop since a long time ago.. a place of good reads
it seemed like they had a renovation work on some parts of the shop
as some of them seem a bit different from the short video that I watched before this
Oh I also recorded my tour and will definitely upload it soonest as I am done with the editing
I haven't started yet and I hope it wont take long.. tho I am clueless of this video editing thingy

and i hate that there's nothing i can do.. until monday
argh.. felt so frustrated but something exciting
is waiting this weekend ... :)

time flies so fast, kan?
we're no longer celebrating our relationship's anniversarry
or that would give me headache,, too many things to celebrate! hehe


so we got each other these.
i bought hun Three Cups of Tea coz it got really really good reviews
and thankfully, he loves it! he even finished the whole book already!
and he got me Her Fearful Symmetry as it's from Audrey Niffenegger
as he knows that I fell hard for Time Traveler's Wife
thanks hun :)

so we're off to celebrate our anniversarry this weekend
we have everything packed up and a taxi to airport booked at 5.15am tomorrow
I really hope the alarm won't go off!



we'll sure not to to forget this moleskine that we specially bought for this trip

the first time i saw you...

... the feeling was undescribably beautiful.

seeing and listening to your heartbeat were
the best and reassuring things for me at that moment.

it was an amazing experience,
i can't believe i'm carrying a living person inside of me.

our little one was sitting upright and it seemed like
he/she was sucking his/her thumb :)
i wish the scan film was as clear as what me & hubby saw on the screen.
we smiled and thank God that everything seemed normal..insyaAllah.

Thank you Allah.. it's a miracle :)

Sunny Day! I love it! I always love it when I get in the bathroom for morning shower and the room feels warm and I don't really need to turn on the heater first, at least to brush my teeth.

These days I realise I discover more cooking skills in me. Not saying that I am a good cook! but I somehow feel more passionate in it than I usually feel. I tried about 3 new recipes in a week and God, I really love the new recepi on fettucini! So we had one today for brunch :)

Other than cooking (which from the way I put it, seems like a major thing now), this week I have more free time for my research as I have less workshops in my diary. I try to commit at least reviewing 1 journal per day. But must do it everyday, hmmm..


and Oh, I am also reading 2 books at a time. I love both and I find it hard to stop on one and concentrate on the other, so I have one for my bedtime and the other one for most of my waking time hehe. not fair, i know hehe.

I also got myself a few new pretty dresses this week. and some bags. hehe. well, the book that I am spending a lot of time on is basically on 'discovering the More in you'. Among other things, it also covers on defining and overcoming the 'soft addictions' in you- some of them are shopping, excessive amount of watching tv, overspending, yada yada yada. Yes, you too can bury your nose in this book!

Oh and have I told you about the old bookshops that I've visited in the city centre? Previous week, when I had a few classes at Mount Pleasant which is about 20-30mins walk from home (which doesnt seem that far when you walk between beautiful shops), I checked the Reid of Liverpool. I love it! I didn't spend on anything and couldn't find the cat tho :( I just love walking in between the old bookshelves and dear, the store just has a certain rustic charm. Reminded me of my dream- to open an old bookstore + cafe :) yes, dream on .


Before I get back to my work, I'd like to introduce our new buddy ; Mr. William Shakesbeare.
We figured we need a company to tie our shoelaces- hence he sits on the bench next to the shoe room. and I do hope he doesn't mind to occasionally answer the phone when we're not around.

the news report that it was -17C last night? is it true?
the weather is still not kind to other places but quite honestly we do get sunshines over here :)
but the snow's really thick.. say 10cm++ ?
my appointment with my supervisor is rescheduled to next week
so I'm gonna spend some time today to do some filing and reorganizing the documents
but lunch first.. fish and chips anyone?

things have been a bit hectic and slow at the same time
but everything's working out just fine
only that i am having a lil problem keeping up with my readings
hehe too laid back i guess?

we havent officially moved in to our apartment yet
we're renting out a small place of approx 800 sf
which i honestly think, is pretty cozy for two
it's 450pounds per month- gated, unfurnished plus fully installed with unit's security alarm
what i love most is that it's only 10mins walking distance to uni and city centre
so less pounds to spend on transportation ; )
